Scientology Beliefs & Secret Organization

The Church of Scientology is an organization founded by American author and former naval officer L. Ron Hubbard in 1954. The organization holds various beliefs about the human mind, body and spirit, and claims to offer solutions to many problems.

Scientology’s core beliefs include the concept that people have three “dynamic” levels of existence: an exterior body (referred to as the “reactive mind”), an interior mind (the “analytical mind”) and a spiritual level (the “creative mind”), with each level having its characteristics and abilities.

People are believed to be able to control their exterior body through their analytic mind, while only God can control their spiritual level. Scientologists believe that most physical and mental problems can be solved through clearing the reactive mind, which involves processing any negative or unwanted thoughts through the analytical mind until they can be reduced or eliminated.

Scientology’s practices include auditing, which is a type of counseling in which one person (called a “preclear”) answers questions while another listens and records information. Members also engage in spiritual counseling, which is aimed at helping them improve their relationship with God or gain more spiritual awareness. These practices help people clear their minds and reconnect with their true identities, leading them to improved health and well-being.

When Ron Hubbard died in 1986, David assumed the position of Chairman of the Board and was formally installed as the Church’s leader. He is also the Chairman of the Board for Religious Technology Center. Previously, he was the head of the Church’s Office of Special Affairs and the Head of Religious Technology Center’s Religious Engineering department. It’s not clear how long he has been involved with Scientology but it could have been from childhood as an early member. He is also the longest-serving member of the Church’s board of directors.
